I'm not sure if this is the right area so please move if it is wrong.

A bit of background:  SMF 1.1.10, intifada theme, SP2.3 http://www.ibrr.org/forum/

Wow!  This theme is incredible!  I am wondering if it is possible to transition my site into this; especially the neat buttons on top that enlarge when hovered over?  i am also in hopes of retaining my stuff and trying to transition into the most updated version of SMF.

My other question is that you will see that my banner is on my forum.  Can it be placed where yours is applied?

I am a REAL novice.  I can cut and paste, am willing to read and learn anything you point me to as I know ya'll are busy and such.  Oh, I have cpanel and such on my server.

This site is incredible!  I want to thank ya'll for providing it as it really means a lot to folks like me who really are kinda dumb in computers and dirt poor!

                Hi

You will need to be running one of the SMF 2.x branch builds for the Theme to work I am afraid

ok, what i am reading is that FIRST, i need to transition my site into SMF 2.x with x being whatever the most current platform is.  so, i will go and read up on this over the next couple of days.

the next question i have kinda deals with taking 'pieces' of your theme and incorporating them into what i am using now (and i'm thinking out loud in cyberspace here :o).  this is the first scenario i am contemplating as i like my color scheme.  if i run with this, i would simply like to remove the header from my theme from the menu bar (logout, donations, etc.) up and place the header of yours on it (from the menutree up w/emphasis placed on having the rollover buttons i previously mentioned).

the second scenario (which i am leaning towards) is to simply transfer all my 'data' into the playground theme.  what i am frightened about is this:  so, i download playground, upload it, and then some of my features don't 'play' well w/it (no pun intended :))).  the two vital features i have are the donations key and simpleportal 2.3.  also, is it proper/ok to place my logo where your gm header is as long as i keep your copyright or whatever in the footer?  i mean this theme of yours is just PERFECT!  a couple of my members said, "You gotta talk to them and get this thing running!"  and i agree!

Okay looks like I posted at the same time as you did - the wonders of the internet

I will address these on there merit

ok, what i am reading is that FIRST, i need to transition my site into SMF 2.x with x being whatever the most current platform is.  so, i will go and read up on this over the next couple of days.

                        You are correct here BUT

Back Up First - just in case I am not saying there will be an issue but better safe than sorry

the next question i have kinda deals with taking 'pieces' of your theme and incorporating them into what i am using now (and i'm thinking out loud in cyberspace here :o).  this is the first scenario i am contemplating as i like my color scheme.

I will create you a matching colour scheme to match you existing one - no problem here

if i run with this, i would simply like to remove the header from my theme from the menu bar (logout, donations, etc.) up and place the header of yours on it (from the menutree up w/emphasis placed on having the rollover buttons i previously mentioned).

If yo can give me a SShot I will probably more understand what you mean - sorry for being a pain but once you are at the 2.x Brach GraphicsMayhem can do any thing - just may take some time :D:D

the second scenario (which i am leaning towards) is to simply transfer all my 'data' into the playground theme.  what i am frightened about is this:  so, i download playground, upload it, and then some of my features don't 'play' well w/it (no pun intended :))).  the two vital features i have are the donations key and simpleportal 2.3.

Simple Portal will work straight away I really like this Portal (have I said that before - think I might have done :D:D) so do not worry about SP

also, is it proper/ok to place my logo where your gm header is as long as i keep your copyright or whatever in the footer?  i mean this theme of yours is just PERFECT!  a couple of my members said, "You gotta talk to them and get this thing running!"  and i agree!

From my point of view we / you can do what ever with the logo / header style is up to you all I stipulate is that The Footer remains un-changed which is in line with the SMF regulations and that any major redsign is Okayed by Graphics Mayhem

Hope all of this makes sense

The best thing to do is start the migration and when we are ready the Guys n Gals Here will help you out - in the mean time I will create a playground theme matching you current theme - but is unlikely to day as I have some sunshine here in the UK and need to do some work in the Garden :D:D

I know this is long and doesn't probably make sense but will be a good starting poing
