How to Install a New Theme

Login to your Forum as Admin

From the Admin Control Panel (ACP) - Select - Themes and Layout?

At the bottom of the page is an option to load a theme from file

Click Browse and select the downloaded Theme's zip file

And Click Open

Once the page reloads Click Install

And follow the on screen instructions

Once the theme has been uploaded there are options at the top of the page to adjust setting like what is the default Theme and if Members are allowed to change Themes

Yep that is correct this is how to install a theme

For a member to change a theme to a personal favorite you need to change it in your profile Description / Instructions Here... As long as the administrator allows members to change their theme 

Note that this Theme has not been implemented at GM yet it will in time but there is more work to be done  - So just hang on a little

I have 4 themes installed on my forum and in the same 4 me. and that is that I really like these themes






It also seems that I get great forum



I do not see the logo on the forum.

Hi

I left the actual logo out so that it will integrate directly into you community

First question do you have a logo which you would like to use ?? if you have not then I am sure we can create one for you

If you have a logo upload it to an area on your web server and note the URL

The go to the admin control panel and select current theme and about a third of the way down the page there is an input box where you can enter a URL for your logo and then it will show up the size of the logo is 550x140 but it can be half transparent if you require something smaller

If you need any help give us a shout and we will be able to make it work for you

I have just injected the LOGO temporary and it will look okay here is a screen shot

Also your avatars are larger than the default 65 x 65 not a problem you just need to change one line in the CSS if you let me know the size you use I can give you the code

can I use barindex.template and index.template a theme, then load the other 3 themes?

that are the same, just change the color?

or am I wrong

Yes it can be done

I assume you want to be able to change the theme via a set of buttons like this



So that there is one theme installed but consists of 4 colours

If you want to do this there are some tutorials on SMF but as you are running Simple Portal there is a theme changer block with in that so I would just use that and it would solve your problem with out having to code a new theme

You may want to have a read here, the details explained also relate to RC1 - but it is not as simple as they make it out - especially if you want to change buttons and icon etc
